ZSOM-Mini-Standard vs ZSOM-Mini-Embedded
The ZSOM-Mini is available in two versions. Both have the same functionality and the same 56 signals (see pinout); they differ in how they are connected and mounted.
- ZSOM-Mini-Standard: ready to use on its own, with screw terminals for direct wiring.
- ZSOM-Mini-Embedded: with pin headers, to be plugged onto a base board – either the ZSOM-Mini-BMS or your own custom board.
The following table highlights the differences between the two:
| Feature | ZSOM-Mini-Standard | ZSOM-Mini-Embedded |
|---|---|---|
| Needs base board | No | Yes, ZSOM-Mini-BMS or custom board |
| Connectors (56 pins) | Screw terminals | Pin headers |
| Power supply | 3-pin power connector (e.g. ZSOM Power Supply) or screw terminals 29 (+Vin) and 30 (GND) | Through the base board |
| Battery solution | 3 Li-Ion cells in series | 1 Li-Ion cell (with ZSOM-Mini-BMS) |
